It is, and I did. Trying to demean 'the left' by a fraction of a percent of demonstrators who were violent is exactly like trying to demean 'the right' by a fraction of a percent who identify as Neo Nazi, KKK and Westboro. Not even comparable.
The growth rates of radical left communities on reddit and discord have never been higher.
Sure. It makes no differnece to the point. If you dislike the usage of 28 years I can say that the Republicans have only won one popular election for president since the 80's.I just pointed out that 28 years and 2 mos. makes it 6-2 compared to 28 years flat.
You're the one who included that time period by going back 28 years, I just pushed it back 2 months.
Yes I realize many don't hold women's rights up to the level that many would like in a misogynistic world. The worldwide demonstrations should be telling us that people will not be taking it laying down. To make it a partisan issue is half the problem, the right always taking things personal. Maybe if trump weren't a misogynist the right wouldn't take such demonstrations personally. Many people may not realize it right now, but the protests, the violence, the chants of "not my president," etc., are only going to hurt the Democratic Party in the long run. Moderates and swing voters are looking at that behavior and they will associate it with the Left. When future elections roll around, those same swing voters may think twice before aligning themselves with the Left because of it.
To the protesters, it may seem like they are standing up for a cause they believe in. Ultimately, they are driving a wedge between the Left and everyone else. Politically, they are their own worst enemy.
If one looks at a longer time frame, it evens out.The republicans have won only a single popular vote for president in the last 28 years.
That doesn't matter to the point I"m making. I'm takling about the trend we have seen for nearly 30 years. 30 years may not be very long to you old timer but to anyone under 50 its been a while. During my lifetime I have only ever seen a republican win once. My entire life. And that is the entire life of my entire generation. If one looks at a longer time frame, it evens out.
Twice in the last 32 years.
Thrice in the last 36 years.

Ah ya'll geezers crack me up. jk jk.@Monk Of Reason
WHO are you calling old???
I prefer "seniority" .
Remember: Getting old ain't for wimps.
Arthritis, pain, c.r.s.
"c.r.s." is the worse of all.
It's a trend only if one carefully chooses the cut-off year. That doesn't matter to the point I"m making. I'm takling about the trend we have seen for nearly 30 years. 30 years may not be very long to you old timer but to anyone under 50 its been a while. I agree with that. Now if that means we will continue to see a more liberal shift as the old die out and the young continue to trend more and more liberal I don't know. But I was just making the counter that the democratic party/ liberalism hasn't taken some huge hit with trump's win.
Warning!edit: Also the political landscape is very different today that it was in the 80's. When George Bush Sr took office in 1988 (The 1st of two elections since where Rep have won the popular vote since) Gay marriage was trending at around 8% support. Today its nearly 60%. We went from having a crime crisis to fighting tough crime and war on drugs to finding out that it isn't working and attepmting to work something else out. We've went from "whats the internet" to "I have six divices in my home and or on my person that can download movies faster than they could have loaded a page".
1 out of 7 or 2 out of 8 isn't really a big issue. And even if the election is infrequent 30 years is still a long time. It isn't a cherry picked special number. I just took my lifetime which may be arbitrary but its all I really can attest for. It's a trend only if one carefully chooses the cut-off year.
The problem is that presidential elections are infrequent events.
People are people no matter their time or place.Warning!
Trite sentence coming up....
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Your lifetime is the mere blink of my eye.1 out of 7 or 2 out of 8 isn't really a big issue. And even if the election is infrequent 30 years is still a long time. It isn't a cherry picked special number. I just took my lifetime which may be arbitrary but its all I really can attest for.
Occasional winks.Your lifetime is the mere blink of my eye.
OK....it's several blinks.
So long as we're not twinks.Occasional winks.
no twinks. Yanks maybe if we're honest. So long as we're not twinks.
Aww.So long as we're not twinks.
I recently learned of that term when searching for images of something else.Aww.
I recently learned of that term when searching for images of something else.
There are many many things to learn in that big world out there.
The republicans have won only a single popular vote for president in the last 28 years.
