I don't know if this has been done before, it seems like such an obvious thing to bring up...
Question: Out of all the world’s religions, which one would you say is the easiest, most low maintenance to follow?
I say Christianity:
- No dietary rules
- No mandatory system of regular ritual prayer (unless in a monastery)
- Forgiveness of sins if you repent and promise never to do it again
- Love God
- Love others as you love God
- Do unto others
- Accept Christ as your Lord and saviour and receive eternal life
- Follow the ethical and spiritual teachings of Christ - make him your Lord
- Make more followers of Christ, as best you can
- Turn the other cheek
- Forgiveness of sins through Christ's horrible death
- Forgive those who have wronged you
- Blessed are the meek
…and probably many more…
But that’s not why I became a Christian!
Do you think your religion is more or less easy to follow than Christianity?
That's because you don't understand **** about Christianity. To start with, turn the other cheek is not about being passive.
Turn the Other Cheek? (Explained in Context)
It's about being like Gandhi. When Britain ruled Africa and India, he didn't quietly roll over and let it happen, nor did he fight. Instead, he stood his ground. That is to say, his group wad burning passes at one point, and he kept getting up again and again, and letting them hit them again. He kept burning passes, until they were all gone, or he was knocked out.
Most Christians don't do this, they do at most defensive fighting, that is to say they only attack if people threaten their lives or the lives of those they love (accused by the "peaceful" secular folk of being violent cuz they carry guns). Or they misunderstand this to be passivity. This is what King Bumi of Avatar: The Last Airbender calls Neutral Jing. You don't fight or run away. You let yourself get hurt standing up for what is right. I do not believe you can follow this.
And this one part of Christianity!
Forgiveness of sins, makes no promises to not do it again. None! Peter asks if we should forgive seven times, and Jesus instead gives him a huge number by Jewish standards (which is meant to be abstract). The point is to not keep score.
It's not "do unto others". I could very easily do unto others. They wouldn't be happy. It's do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I've tried this. You immediately realize that most things you like, other people find is overbearing, and other people are users who take advantage of your kindness (which is ultimately about wanting to be treated well by others). This why, contrary to how you set this up, all of these are two-way sayings. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Love your neighbor as yourself. Love God with your whole heart, mind, body, strength.
It starts with loving God as you would your dearest wife on the day of your wedding, only She is not a bridezilla. And to the Jews and early Christians, they saw you as the Bride. It continues by seeing other people as though they were God. Then you love yourself enough to give you strength to bear abuse, and wisdom and self-respect to know if you can't and to walk away. Because sometimes people don't measure up. Good luck with this!
I think you'd be surprised at how the meek inherit the Earth. They usually wind up being martyrs.

The easiest religion to follow is animism.
Be in awe of the natural world. Remember that everything is divine. Depending on how organized this is, there may not even be any rules or taboos!
