Federal agents conduct immigration enforcement raids in at least six states <-- Washington Post.
U.S. immigration authorities arrested hundreds of undocumented immigrants in at least a half-dozen states this week in a series of raids that marked the first large-scale enforcement of President Trump’s Jan. 25 order
Officials said the raids targeted known criminals, but they also netted some immigrants without criminal records, an apparent departure from similar enforcement waves during the Obama administration. Last month, Trump substantially broadened the scope of who the Department of Homeland Security can target to include those with minor offenses or no convictions at all.
Who are these people being rounded up? Are they dangerous criminals, or people just trying to work and live their lives?

And how long is it going to be till we see Americans hiding people in their attics?

No one would complain if the police arrested a group of bank robbers because the broke the law. People who are in the country illegally have also broken the law. Why not arrest them?

Well, the one word that I notice there is "undocumented", which is a kinder word for "illegal." Meaning not legal. Against the law. People who did not immigrate here legally.

Frankly, I fail to see the issue.

There's a legal process for the immigrants to get back in. I do feel for them especially with the kids and families here but they're going to have to sacrifice some time and money to get back in. Those that haven't committed further crimes should be sponsored by their legal relatives. I hope Trump can at least come up with a fair system to reunite families if the immigrant has a clean record.

I see this as a formality to ensure everyone's background is scrutinized before they're allowed back in. However, seeing how extreme Trump can be I'm not feeling easy about future legal immigration.

Gay was the new black, and now immigrates are the new gay. America loves to collect groups of people to hate. They can pretend it is about the laws all they want, but when you are deporting people that have lived here peacefully for 15+ years, people that have a family, it is really about keeping America white.

No, the illegal immigrant round up has only slightly been undertaken, Big difference there. Legal immigrants have nothing to fear.

I'm fine if we keep the ones that are peaceful. But they should at lease pay the difference in cost what it would take for a legal immigrant to come. It's not cheap for legals to come here.

Can we deport the ones with bad records?
