The insults don't serve you well

The whole world does not visit RF. This place used to have a lot more attendees but they got tired of all the rules and the over enforcement of the rules.

People get frustrated in debates and say something bad. I do it at times, we all do but nothing said or done here is really important or means anything to the universe. World leaders are not checking RF to see what any of us said about any subject.

Go out and look at the universe tonight and you will see. This is just the earth and we're just humans, barely evolved from apes.
RF is available on Google Search.

Well the whole world should toughen up a little. Insulting is practically an artform in some cultures. Where I live if someone does not insult you, it means they dislike you. Besides, "whole world" is a bit hyperbolic. This is RF, not teh facebooks or the twitter. It's all a little inconsequential anyway. I mean if you go out of your way to insult someone and further harass them, then you're a dick and should check yourself.

It's a nice sentiment and all. But let's be real here. This is the interwebz. 90% porn, 9% insults and 1% intelligent discourse.
Nice excuse.

Perhaps for some. I behave the same way here as I do in person. I'm impeccable with my word.

With regard to the OP, how someone reacts to my words is a reflection of his/her reality. Likewise, the words of another are a projection of his/her reality. I certainly have complete control over whether or not I allow the words of another to impact my reality. I don't take anything personally.
Nice absence of responsibility.

People don't seem to understand that, when you post, your audience is the whole world, not just the one person. The whole world is seeing you be rude to someone. The whole world is watching you insult someone.
And . . . . . . . . . ? Truthfully, I don't think I'm that important to the whole world, and secondly, I don't have the time or inclination to care what it thinks of my posting.

Reaction isn't just on the audience; the artison takes a large part of responsibility. Else, art is lost.

Else, rhetoric truly is lost.

By artison, I'm guessing you are making an analogy for the speaker.

The speaker is solely responsible for what is said, not what is understood. Reaction is exclusively on the audience.

Preemptively, if room is left for interpretation, it's on the audience to ask for clarification. Their choice to do so or not falls on them.

That approach makes for terrible communication.
