He's a "winter bear".....an anomaly (perversion of nature).
They stay awake thru winter, usually to annoy humans.

I had a dream the other night that we were at an event, like a BBQ, at a large house located at the top of a small hill. I looked outside and noticed there was a polar bear climbing up the hill.

I kept running around the house, trying to see things from different vantage points -- just to make sure the bear didn't get in the house, catch us off guard, and hurt someone -- but eventually I lost sight of the bear.

Then, I went outside and saw one of the kids had given it a popsicle, and they were sitting on a wooden swing together, eating popsicles.
