I remember that in the Simpsons."The Prisoner" - I am not a number, I am a free man. (laughter). Rover will get you. Also Rover appeared in a Simpson's episode about the Movementarians "The Joy of Sect" when Marge runs through a field to escape the cult.
Nerd am I. Big nerd.
Bonus nerd points if you can make a cogent argument for the Prisoner being a political satire rather than a psychological exploration.
It always struck me as spy drama with bizarre & dark comedic overtones.
Is that the satire part?
Consider.....
- The beautiful setting with wonderful grounds, & an ocean view.
- No one seems to have to work....they just entertain themselves all day...the opposite of torture.
- But he is tormented by captivity & curiosity about which side is holding him.
- The uniforms, language, the conduct....it all seemed to mock the Brits.
It's not really an argument for anything....just aspects I enjoyed.
