But if we just kick thoughts out they will become homeless, poor things.
who might rise up and deal sternly with those who have wronged them so...
So, I guess we should feed them pub food and drink Guinness to make sure they can't get ahold of us, while they still think they are getting along with us...:p

I used to look after an Irish wolf-hound called Digby. His favourite toys were large tree branches which he would run around with in his mouth, sometimes knocking people off their feet. Bless him!

A friend had a German Shepherd who had bowling balls to play with...you literally had to throw them for her...she'd pick them up--after pushing them around for a minute or two--by the finger holes and bring it back...

Our late dog, Abby--a boxer-pit mix, weighing in at 60 lbs--loved to grab fallen branches and drag them around. And break them with her mouth. And then she'd chew on them like a bone.

I suspect, however, that Digby's branches were much larger than the ones she picked...

Our last dog used to love to pick up rocks and other items from the local "stream", actually a channelized. Rocks, beer bottles and once a power drill so heavy that her head was sideways was her delight. Prying her jaws open to retrieve these items was a challenge.
