Try a carrot.
I had a guinea pig once that didn't like new surroundings, but forgot every problem as soon as you waived a carrot in front of its nose. Chewing trumps caution for rodents.

People like that are perfect in a testing role.
I once worked for a company where the President always found software bugs when he tried to demo the software. He should have been a software tester and not trying to run a company. There were other reasons for me to have made that judgement as well - as in the company did not succeed.
