When necessary, sorry is understood, no word's needed
My wife loves hearing the word 'sorry' when I've blown it and will try to do better in the future.
Dogs, at least, are very good at that. Meaning it rather than "oops you caught me... you still love me, don't you?" is something else.
Paul could have posted for that, beats the word every time
