I was surprised to find pizza for sale when I was there in the 1990's. Not only was there pizza but REAL pizza not American "pizza".

Given how much walking was involved, getting a doppio (two shots of espresso) at a bar kept me going.

Pizza was invented in Naples, and you can get some wonderful pizza there but the best pizza i ever ate came from a dingy pizzaria ****ed away in a corner of the piazza. navona in rome.

It's been too long for me to remember where I had pizza since I was in italy in the early 1990's, but my hazy memory is clear that they were wonderful.
