Your experience is not unique. I've waited for 3 hrs on a sunny, hot in the car afternoon while SHE shopped in a Dollar Store. When I asked," What the hell were you doing for 3 hrs?". Her excuse was, finding some birthday cards(4) held her up for an hour and a quarter.........No reason was offered for the other 1+3/4 hrs....She spent $80 that day in a dollar store.....80 items of junk...But what a bargain she got?????

I went into a $2 store with my wife and she kept telling me there were no prices on anything, I kept saying $2. I thought the signs everywhere saying "everything $2" was a hint.

They used to have a Pound store near where i lived in the UK.

When it opened everything was (you guessed it) a £.

Last time i went in not long before i fled the country a £ was the cheapest item, most of the products were considerably more...

The $2 stores here have mostly disappeared, the only one I know of still going is now a $5 store. My mother loves to tell me how she got a giant box of band-aids for a fiver, thousands of them in there apparently. I felt like saying, geezuz mum, you're 92 how many band-aids do you need! But I didn't.

I remember 5 and dime stores. I'm that old. I won by being able to keep my shoes on going through security being over 75.

Apparently, the Dollar Stores here are now charging $1.25 per item.. We had $5 stores but I don't know what they are charging now....The situation, here presently, a new state law is being enforced making it illegal for supermarkets to distribute plastic bags... The prices of some supermarkets for cloth or some other new material bag isn't cheap and are too small so that you have to purchase more bags per trip to the market. You can bring your own non plastic bag...

That's been in force in france for a few years for single use plastic bags.

There was then a move to bag for life. Also plastic but much stronger. You paid for the first, about €1 to €1.50. they lasted a year or so before they needed changing. The store took your old one and provided a new one.

Now there is a move to natural fibre/hessian bags at between €2.50 and €7, no more plastic so the bag for life thing was really only a bag for 4 or 5 years.

The hessian ones are, i think, pretty good, strong and durable. I don't know how long they'll last, perhaps a few years.

No jury duty, here, if you are 75 or older and chose to 'not serve'. I'll be glad when I have that option available to me.....;)

A 1 hour 45 minute appointment that turns into 4 hours and I got to sit in the car waiting for 2 hours 15 minutes because she didn't think it was worth sending a text because it wasn't that much longer but she could send a text to tell me about a store that had opened

Ain't you so glad she is home. Just think, without her you'd be sat on you butt all looking at birds and petting the she dog
