I had some winning IT fun. I went to print something. The printer did not show up on the list. I tried updating the driver - the driver was listed as up to date but I was told it was missing. More fun ensued until finally after 45 minutes the Canon install package for my printer was installed and the page printed.

Any problem involving no people that can be solved in less than an hour is, more or less, fun.

most of my entire day was dealing with 2 users..... one's new PC and his need for things and yet not having time for me to do it, but wanting it done. The other, on a Mac, log in was not working...discovered, for some reason her Mac had created a local account under her same user name...but then I'v been spending more than a week working on this user's Mac to find all sorts of network related issues connected to the users name and a recent change, and straightening the mess out over 2 different networks and 4 different accounts
