Huh...apparently, no other traffic law violations, though...
Tis just as I suspected with a sleeping driver in a Tesla.
Excerpted....
Further investigation revealed that the driver had placed a "so-called steering wheel weight in the footwell" of the car’s driver’s side.

"This device is attached to the steering wheel to trick the vehicle's safety system by pretending that your hand is on the wheel," the news release said.

car has an active driver.
No programming skills needed.

That is unless something drive across the path (perpendicular) of the vehicle, then WHAMMO!!!!! Tesla's "autopilot" (which is decidedly not an autopilot) has a flaw. It is not very good at sensing things that move perpendicular to it. Thus why there have been a few accidents where the Tesla drove straight into and broadsided a tractor trailer

My friend's advice....
Don't defeat the system.
It's dangerous.
