Sometimes I wish I could replace mine with a high-tech bionic spine - virtually indestructible and pain-free.

I could also use some bionic legs...and bionic arms, just like in The Six Million Dollar Man.

A friend of mine started having trouble walking, his spine was crumbling. He needed urgent intervention within weeks or he'd never walk again

Within 2 weeks he had an operation to build a titanium framework around his spine. 3 months recovery and he was back to riding his bike.

He's American, his wife is Scottish, they live in France. So he had 3 choices where the op was performed. No way he or insurance could afford America. He'd have been in a wheelchair waiting for the British NHS. He is so happy he had the 3rd choice.

Interesting snippet on cost.
The whole thing, hospitalisation, theatre, the frame and op, recover in hospital then 3 months convalescence cost him just under 1000€ and that was because he didn't like the breakfasts in the convalescent home so he had breakfast brought in from outside each day.

I wish we had that kind of system in the U.S.

My doctors have advised me to cut back on my wins since the envy and avarice they invite is fomenting a negative trend in health globally. However, they did advise that I don't have to stop, jut win in moderation.

With this win I am contributing to your health and mine and making the world a better place.

Enjoy.

The really sad, sucky thing is that we see what works and what does not but lack the will to choose what works and eschew what does not.

Hilarity is subjective, but I actually found them amusing.
