Its a bit of a dismal and damp day and a lousy camera on my tablet. I feel shure it will look better when it's lit up
They lit the State tree last night

I sort of made pumpkin pies this Thanksgiving. Someone dropped off some pumpkins and then later pie crust shells and asked me to make him a pie. I have never used cooking pumpkins. I finally cooked the pumpkins. That was easy. And then blended them. That should have been easy but someone has abused my blender a bit. I still got it to work. Then it came to baking them, and that was so simple I could not believe it. But since I did not make the crusts I will not claim to have baked a pie yet. But for Christmas I think that I will do the same. If I cannot get fresh pumpkins I know what sort of canned pumpkins I want.

Okay, longer more info. I made four pies total. The original plan was I would make two pies out of the pumpkins. But I thought the yield was too low for two. I was wrong. I had a can of pumpkin pie filling. Al you did was pour it into a shell and bake it. I was going to make one fresh and one canned pie. Those were easy. Well as I said, I had miscalculated. I still had a lot of pumpkin left. And the pies were good. Better than store bought, even the canned one. I still did not think that I had enough pumpkin for two pies. So I bought a smaller can of pumpkin. Except that was just pumpkin. My other can was premixed with sugar, spices, eggs, and evaporated milk already added. So now I had enough for a whole pie from the can and what I had left. I mixed the two and added more with appropriate amounts of ingredients and poured them into my store bought shells (they come in packets of two). And they were nicely filled.

So one pumpkin pie that was all canned, everything, eggs, milk, pumpkin . . . One that was all fresh pumpkin.

Those two were the best and the worst. The all canned being the worst.

Then two more where I mixed just canned pumpkin with homemade baked and pureed pumpkin. Those were still very good. I am very sure that a pure canned pumpkin, no extra ingredients, would be almost just as good. It is still dead easy.

I saw this on Facebook today. Of course it was from a woo woo source saying "aliens":

It is a real formation Between 20 and 30m high. It is a huge block of limestone that fell off of cliff. You can see two climbers on the left side of it. One on the ground and they other a bit over 3/4 of the way up. I wanted to see where it came from but I only could find this one particular photograph, but enough sources referred to it to know that it was a real thing.

I finally found a site that gives directions to it. But again, no picture of the cliff that it came from. But a slightly different angle on the block:

I will include the link for anyone that wants to find it. It is the last hike on the link, so if you do a quick scroll to the bottom you will save some time:

This problem is taking an age to get diagnosed.
It was diagnosed a few months ago, I had been dealing with it for 3 years... which puts it at chronic......which also means it can take a while to recover from. And I am, I probably could eat pie..... I'm just not brave enough to do it yet

Good morning. I have a sore arm from the st00pid covid shot. I feel bacon will be the only cure. Although my stomach felt terrible last night so maybe a cup of tea then see how I am.
