I side with Tech9 and call it "misery."
About the only other thing I know about the state is it really weirds me out when someone says I'm from the South.
Only if you are from the Bootheel. Otherwise, the Midwest with influences from different directions.

Indiana is one of those states with its own regional accents. My relatives in the northern part of the state speak with the typical flat, Midwestern "newscaster" accent, but I knew a guy from around the Evansville area, and he spoke like he was from Kentucky (and he was an ardent Cubs fan too). There seems to be an accent line crossing the middle of the state. I noticed the same in Ohio. Up in Cleveland, they speak like Northerners, but as you get south of Columbus, then you might as well be in WV or KY.

Hey, I drink a bottle of wine every day - does that count? LOL

I believe red is good for the heart. The locals here have been wine drinkers since childhood. The tendency is to live into their 90s, we lost a friend a few years ago, she was 104.

@ChristineM I found a local global food store that sells Yorkshire black tea. They also sell Turkish Delight and lots of other interesting foods that are international in reference to the US.

Yorkshire tea is the best.

Do they sell Richmond sausages??? A friend who moved to California was over the moon when she found a shop selling Richmond sausages

anna.

colors your eyes with what's not there
A kid hits you on your bare calf with one and it extends beyond just appearance. They are woody and pokey when dry.

We called them prickly balls, and I remember as a kid getting into a friendly prickly ball fight, the combatants sporting the telltale battle scars, one of them memorably being square in the center of his forehead. : )

If they were what we called 'itchy balls', we also played those games....
