Here is what will happen: Somebody will take a hint from Frank Herbert. They'll compile a new Orange Catholic Bible, mostly made up from material taken from RF. John53 will become known as the apostle who had crabs.

I had to google Frank Herbert and I still don't get it. If it's a Dune joke I never will.
Some people like Dune. Other people like Reality TV. I can't say that Dune is very deep. It appeals mostly to people with a Christian background, because it proposes a future in which people are dealing with a skewed version of popular religions we have today. That isn't its point, but its part of the world-building that happens. It can be quite a slog to read if you are not Herbert's target audience. The movies, too, will seem very bizarre and cut up.
