I've had to let Ares know quite a few times lately that its okay if he likes a song I don't.

(Mom-mom's picky.)
I used to love asking my mom if she wanted hear this song I liked. She would ask, "Is it that loud, wild music you like?" I'd say know, then play her something like Wasp. I found it amusing. She was tolerant.

I think my folks did a version of that. Introduce us to music or literature and let us pick what we liked. They had a surprising influence on us by not pushing what they liked on us.

The Way to Eden. Not my favorite episode, but that line stands out.

Some people like Dune. Other people like Reality TV. I can't say that Dune is very deep. It appeals mostly to people with a Christian background, because it proposes a future in which people are dealing with a skewed version of popular religions we have today. That isn't its point, but its part of the world-building that happens. It can be quite a slog to read if you are not Herbert's target audience. The movies, too, will seem very bizarre and cut up.

I don't like sc-fi or reality tv. I usually watch documentaries and there's a few comedy shows I like but mostly old British and Australian ones.

I didn't like Lord of the Rings.

I feel like that's something you're not allowed to say.

I also didn't watch any of the Harry Potters, and I have no desire to.

I feel that's something else you're not allowed to say.

I wasn't a fan of them but that could be because it showed me how badly I was pronouncing the names in my head when I read the books.

I need to get money out of the bank so I should take and shower and go do that, I could get some fish from the co-op while I'm over there but it's a miserable day. Why does life have to be so hard?
You're going about it wrong
