My family were Coke drinkers. When I got my license, it seems like every time I went out my dad would ask me to pick up a candy bar and Coke for him. It bugged the tar out of me as a youth, but turned out to be a fond memory of my father. To this day, I leave a Coke and a candy bar on his grave when I visit.
With my mom, it'll be diet Pepsi and a raw hot dog.

She'll get up in the middle of the night, grab a raw hot dog, chow down and go back to bed.

To change the subject to something totally boring to almost everyone else.

The parade of floats went well, the theme this year was "Olympics" for some reason.

It's just a quiet country village with narrow winding streets, population just over 500 including the surrounding hamlets.

I reckon there are around 5000 people cramming the streets. Not so many as pre covid but not so bad.

And then the band playing tonight though it was an opertunity to good to miss, set up in the middle of the crowd and began playing there and then. Great party atmosphere.

Now it's rest time before the meal and concert.

Looks like a great time.

As a youngster, raw hot dogs ( I think they are pre-cooked ), leftover cold potatoes, mayonnaise sandwiches, mustard and relish sandwiches and cold leftover pizza were on my menu when home alone.

Foraging! Familiar with that too.

They are supposed to be cooked. Admittedly, I'm trusting our system that they are.
