That's so many!

Today is Ares's psychiatrist, a 1.5 hour drive(3 hours round trip). It should be an easy enough appointment... I am just exhausted with them.

My dad's driving, at least.

Good old dad ...

Is that the 2 patients a day psychiatrist?

Wednesday is my examination, that's about a 1.5 hour drive each way over mountain. I am not looking forward to it.

No, I won't book with them. I consider it a waste of time.

From the last psychiatrist visit, they just stated the obvious.

I'll be honest, the two things that have helped the most we figured out here at home(and one was accidental).

The kids needs more chili in his diet, and time outs need to happen outdoors.

If he does have a fit(they're all obsessive now, the loony ones have mostly dissipated), he gets his pill, and he calms down again. I do need to ask the psychiatrist about the frequency on those... whether its better to give smaller more frequent doses, or a larger one(he uses them about 1-2 times a week).

Chilli helps? I didn't know that so just looked it up, it can relieve stress and depression, i shall mention it to BIL. Thanks.

Glad you're both getting a small handle on things, its been very stressful for you recently. Maybe you too need more chilli ;-)

We didn't know it, either. But once he started eating a can(by his own choosing) most days, we couldn't help but notice his behavior started improving.

He's still a handful, but I wouldn't say we're in full crisis anymore.

I may need more chili... I'm not a fan of canned, though.

I'm going to have to reach out to my old therapist... I could use some pointers. Even if I can't afford to talk to her on a regular basis, maybe just here and there would help.

Seriously, you should have been told that by psychologists/psychiatrists. The science is a bit thin but they should have suggested that to you. This from perplexity.ai with prompt:v: What ingredients in chili have psychoactive effects?

Capsaicin is the main psychoactive compound found in chili peppers. It has several notable effects:
  • It can alter adrenaline and endorphin levels in the body
  • In mild doses, it may produce feelings of excitement, likely due to increased adrenaline
  • At higher doses, it can trigger a release of endorphins, leading to a blissful, euphoric state
  • Some studies suggest it may have antidepressant-like effects, at least in animal models

@Wu Wei, since I've been gone, have you been a good bear? Did you have any pie? Did Wu save me a piece of pie?
I have not had any pie..... I did not save yo ua piece of pie...... Mrs Wu, who made the pie....had the audacity to eat the last piece of pie..... but even if she had not eaten.... I would have....and still not saved you any...... and I think it is unreasonable for you to even ask me to save you a piece of pie..... I mean...it is pie after all.

me tasting bad pie....Maybe?
