@JustGeorge , I was surprised when a doctor told me my answer to his question was unusual. He asked me,"What kind of childhood did you have?". I had a great childhood. I've met a number of our members who were mistreated growing up..Why??
I had a mediocre childhood. Overall, I felt safe, though.
I don't understand why people mistreat each other... I suspect its a nasty cycle that just doesn't stop...

Not that I'm aware of but I live in a little country town, maybe in the cities they have problems with gangs.

The problem here reaches out into small towns. All schools seem at risk, here.
School wise in France it's about how i remember it when i was a hooligan kid in the UK. They don't seem to have any extra protection. Maybe the big cities are different.
I think the biggest risk here is the fear of risk. I tried to donate a laptop and tablet to the school earlier this year for an under privileged kid to use but they said they couldn't accept them, the effort to get it approved by the relevant government department was too much and would have little chance of success.
