He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in Isaiah 40.22

The "scripture" isn't even referring to literal "Israelite" people for one. The texts aren't even historical, they are occurring within ones mind.

For two, many ancient "enlightened" ones knew of philosophy of the mind.
They also had less garbage to clutter their minds long ago.

The Bible contains a lot of history. For the most part, it is a chronicle of the life and times of the ancient Israelites. It is filled with metaphors and lessons in morality as well.

The problem as you know is it is mythical history from people beat down so many times they did not know their own history and invented them
