Violet.
Godsmack performed at the first hard rock concert I went to that I was in the lawn section. While the general atmosphere was completly different from Steve Miller Band and Weird Al, the awesomeness was nothing compared to KISS. Actually, I did not know alot about Godsmack at this concert, and could only name a few of there songs.
But being in the lawn section for the first was quite an experience, and on that day, I was introduced to a substance that made some songs such as Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf" make much more sense.

LOL! your comment here reminded me of a time
maybe when I was about your age,
when we "lost" our car at a Grateful Dead show.
Can you immagine WHY?;)
We walked and walked that lot and finally gave up.
Sat down in a couple abandon lawn chairs
in the middle of the lot...
and figured we'd just wait till the lot just emptied.

Eventually I remembered that we parked the car in a huge puddle.
We found the car.
That was QUITE A TRIP!:rainbow1:
Luckily someone else was driving.:D

I have only been to 4 concerts in my life--in 1978, my parents took us all to a Country Music festival, the only singer I remember clearly was Willie Nelson. In 1979, I saw the Bee Gees. In 1989 I saw The Beach Boys and Chicago. In 1999, I saw the Statler Brothers a couple of years before they retired (they'd been around about 40 years, so it was time, I guess).

I don't know how many people like America, I like their folk-rock sound. They are still together and still tour sometimes.

I was heart broken George Harrison was dying back in 2001, but felt at peace once he did actually die. He was no longer in pain.

Something else we have in common; I've seen the Statler Brothers. My uncle took us to see them at a county fair when I was in high school. I haven't been to many concerts, either.

The first concert I ever went to was the Eagles.

I've been to see Keith Green (seriously!), Phil Keaggy (he was good), and Second Chapter of Acts (bet you didn't see that coming!).

I've also seen the Marshall Tucker Band, Queen Ida and the Bon Temps Zydeco Band, Hal Ketchum, Billy Joe Royal, and Bruce Springsteen (twice). Probably a few I can't think of, but those were the ones I remember right off hand.

Come to think of it, maybe I've seen more concerts than I thought.

Last month we went to the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium and saw a bunch of people, including George Jones.

I've seen a lot of people play at clubs, but those aren't really concerts, and you wouldn't recognize most of the names.

Bruce Springsteen puts on an amazing show, or at least he did back when I saw him. I saw him once before "Born in the USA," when he wasn't that well known in the South, and once after. Both great shows, but it was easier to get good tickets for the first one. ;)

Queen Ida puts on a great show, too. Her live performances are better than her studio recordings.

It wasn't really a concert, but I have to mention seeing Albert Collins at Tramps Blues Joint in New York. He was amazing. He broke a string after four or five songs, and walked off stage. Everybody thought he went to get a new string, and we kept waiting for him to come back, but he never did. Nobody complained. Seriously. He was so amazing, we all felt lucky to have seen him at all. Between the cover and the two-drink minimum, I had over fifty dollars invested in seeing Albert, and that was a long time ago. I felt I got my money's worth. Now, that's wowing an audience.

You've got to be kidding me. How many times can you sing "Horse With No Name"? ;)

I really liked America when I was in high school. I had no idea they were still together.

Midnightblue- You saw Kieth Green? Was this before you lost your faith?

I have been to clubs to see certain local bands, but I don't remember of their names.

It was when I was in high school, before I lost my faith the first time. I was heavily involved in the charismatic movement in high school, but it didn't hold up very well. Took a couple years off from Christianity, then came back as an Episcopalian for three years, then Eastern Orthodox for 21 years.

I was actually pretty impressed with Keith Green, but that concert is also memorable for being the first time I began to understand how followers can be emotionally manipulated by religious leaders.

I have an apple ipod touch, do you?

If you dont. get it.
I have a distaste for Apple products. I will stick to my 30 GB Phillips GoGear. Allthough my only complaint is I do not like the touch surface interface.
