You and two friends rent a hotel room that costs $30, so you put in $10 each. Later that night, the owner of the hotel realizes he has overcharged you so he sends the bellhop with $5. The bellhop steals $2 and returns $1 to each of you.

So you have each now paid $9. $9 x 3 = $27. The bellhop stole $2. That equals $29 - what happened to the last dollar?

You play with the numbers the wrong way. You paid nine dollars each, and that includes the two dollars the bellhop stole.

Excellent riddle, though.

Whenever I see poker on ESPN, I think to myself "since when is poker a sport?"
That would be because ESPN stands for Entertainment and Sports Programing Network, so technically even by their name they aren't restricted to sports, in fact on like ESPN 3 or 4 they even show Scrabble tournaments.

If you say something ignorant, realize it, and then apologize- Do you deserve to be forgiven?
Yes, I don't see why people should have to suffer for their ignorance if they genuinely recognize their mistake. Though if somehow their ignorance causes suffering to someone else, then they still need to be punished.

If you dream that you are asleep, are you really awake?

No... I've had dreams that I was asleep, and I wasn't awake during the dream...

If you look in the mirror and see someone else, does that mean you are a lunatic?

No... It means there is someone else beside/behind you...

If you love and pray for your enemies, do they cease to be your enemy?

I don't see why you'd love your enemies, unless it is just playful enemies, and you aren't really enemies in the first place.
