The lost tribes of Israel

I don't think there is any evidence that the tribes were ever lost at all and the teachings that claim they wandered off to Europe is historically unsupported and very anti-Jewish/Israel.

I have discussed this topic with several ministers (Protestant & R.C.), a rabbi, and other Christians on different religious forums. No one seems to know what happened to the Israelite tribes that were taken captive by the Assyrians around 800 B.C.

I read the overview of the book published by E. Raymond Capt (Australian biblical archeologist), in which, he states that he re-interpreted the Assyrian tablets, and traced the lost tribes to the throne of England (as well as other places). Is this possible?

they most likely intermarried and melded into the Middle Eastern "melting pot".

Many nations that aspire to be a world power try to link their heritage to a grand/devine ancient civilisation. They usually have an agenda of nationalistic supremacy and grandeur. Napolionic France tried to link themselves to Egypt, likewise Russia. England as one point tried to draw a link to Troy. USA has tried to substantiate their claims to one of the lost tribes. You'll even now hear rumours from sanctioned by the Communist Chinese goverment that the Garden of Eden was actually in China. The list goes on....

The lost tribes of Israel are lost, in more ways than just the geo-political sense. Finding them will not make them UN-lost

James didn't seem to think they were lost when he wrote his letter to them...

James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad:
Greetings. James1:1

If the lost tribes were dispersed, then it is possible that they intermingled with others, changed their names, maybe through fear, and I think many of the people of those countries have jewish blood and are of the group of the lost tribes.

I quick search clears this up

Ten Lost Tribes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Ten Lost Tribes". The recorded history differs from this fable: No record exists of the Assyrians having exiled people from Dan, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun or western Manasseh. Descriptions of the deportation of people from Reuben, Gad, Manasseh in Gilead, Ephraim and Naphtali indicate that only a portion of these tribes were deported and the places to which they were deported are known locations given in the accounts. The deported communities are mentioned as still existing at the time of the composition of the books of Kings and Chronicles and did not wholly disappear by assimilation into the Assyrian populace, although a portion may have.

The Lord gave the Sabbath(s), Passover and other yearly feasts to the children of Israel. These have distinguished them from all other peoples no matter where they have been throughout history. Even non-religious Jews have for the most part kept at least Passover.

“Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. Exodus 31:13

Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbaththroughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. Exodus 31:16
