The Musk Melt-down

He basically, from what I hear, fired the people who initiated censorship on Twitter in the first place. Good riddance to those losers if it's true.
He fired a lot of people for other reasons (mostly arbitrary), then tried to hire them back after being overwhelmed by the issues they originally handled. Also, as pointed out, Musk allowed users to buy verified status, but without actually verifying, so you had people create a bunch fake accounts for companies and celebrities "verified" to be authentic.

Sometimes.
When the road is clear, the weather good,
the podcast is interesting, & the trip successful.

Like N Korea & Khmer Rouge, eh.
I know how you often praise the USSR for
its humanitarian & economic successes.

I would say the USSR was in a far better position in 1990 than the Russian Empire was in 1917.

No wonder you defend Musk.

Wait, what? Where did you get that from?

But let's say what the criticism was about.
Their criticism was : we dislike Musk because he allows twitter users to tweet things we find inappropriate.

Is that normal?
Nope. There a lot more criticisms than that, mostly dealing with how poorly he has been managing the company.

Aye, which only makes sense if there
are more than 1 from which to choose.

One would never say that the Moon
is my favorite of moon of Earth.

Ok, so it is your opinion that Elon Musk is a member of the set labeled "African Americans"? For that was the grouping (the plurality) indicated by Aštra’el out of which he chose Elon Musk as his favorite.

Correct.
Why so many words just to agree with me?

I like youtube.
But I find Twitter useless.
If it collapses, I'm OK with that.
It always was useless, which is why I thought it was a good opportunity for him. Even now its possible that he could turn it into something useful. Tell you what has become useless is facebook, but I'm kind of stuck with it through family. I'd buy facebook stock if I had any money. That company has potential, even though Meta is a flop. I also wish I had bought IBM a month ago.

People can fawn and swoon over Musk all they like, but the fact is users and advertisers are leaving in droves. Musk has lost a lot of money on this.

I will never understand how something immaterial and non-existent like Twitter can cost 44 billion dollars.
It's a platform providing people with a service. It is not gold ingots.

Patents have a cost of course, but proportioned to certain standards.

The reality of human nature and its inherent irrationality often alienates many when they realize that unrestricted "free speech" is far from ideal for our species.

It does boggle the mind. It's just servers and administrators in a building. It would be costly but billions? It has to be the established goodwill more than its infrastructure.

I suppose its value is based on the revenue it rakes in.
