The founding fathers were secularists and didn't put 'god' on the money or in the pledge of allegiance. Christian dominionists were able to infiltrate congress and pass laws adding 'god' to both.

God has no business in the government.

Actually, it could be even worse. Every financial transaction will require a voiceprint command in which everyone will be required to say "In God we trust." For transactions over $1000, singing "God Bless America" will be required.

I think it should be reverted as well. The current motto is pandering from a bygone era and the fact is it is not a credible view given American history.

Our coins say "D. G. Regina," short for "Dei Gratia Regina" ("Queen by the grace of God")... so we have similar issues and then some.

However, we don't have separation of church and state here in Canada, so the motto is merely offensive, not illegal.

Yes, that's true. Still, it doesn't presume to exhort anyone to "trust" in that "Deus."

And anyway, that notion of "divine right" kind got watered down when Henry Bolingbroke (Henry IV) usurped Richard II's crown. Really, the D.G. is just a formalized holdover from a bygone age.
