It is always amusing to see people call you racist when their world view is challenged. Claiming that you stand for equality against racism and as a result deny someones right to self determination is totalitarian idea.
You are distorting my position, whether out of irresponsible ignorance or adolescent malice I don't know. I am a zionist, I have been a zionist all of my adult life, I am a oversees member of two Israeli synagogues, and I have both family and friends currently in Israel -- including in the IDF. Unlike Netanyahu (who has issued a clarion call for a 1-state solution, i.e., apartheid), I steadfastly support self determination for Israeli and Palestinian alike.

Why should it be a Jewish problem to build arab state? Arabs do not have enough money, power, knowledge to build a state? why should Jews go out of their way risking their life to build something for people who don't even recognize that you exist?

Although I am not a Zionist, I really feel like I have to agree with a 1 state solution. Not because its a good option but because its the better of two evils. The reality is that the Muslim world over with few exception have Israel in their sights. The PA and Hamas are by no means an exception to that and they have been the most active towards that goal. I understand that you may believe that once they have autonomy, they will settle down, but the fact is that after they go to the UN asking for a 2state, they come back home and throw parties praising Allah for the day when Israel will be wiped off the map. That may be rhetoric, but coupled with the missiles and stabbings, its sure not going to be easy to believe that. This is unfortunate, but it is also a fact and a reality that those living here need to deal with on a daily basis. As it is, Egypt is struggling with preventing weapon smuggling into Gaza. How in the world would a two state solution ensure Israel's security?

Without a demonstration of solid proof, how would you as a PM who is responsible for the safety of your people, respond to such a situation?

The real irony is that the world expects Jews to keep dying until arab society grows up and becomes civilized. Where were you when those animals stormed a synagogue and slaughtered people in called blood just because they are Jewish or where were you when the Fogel family were slaughtered in cold blood, children age of 3, 5 and 7 had their necks cut isis style and you want us to make peace with these people? It is easy to be a keyboard warrior sitting behind your computer expecting others to sacrifice them self's for your liberal fantasies.

I'm sure Israel's strategy of antagonizing Americans liberals who expect something other "kill them all, or expel them all" will serve it well when all that American money and weapons stop coming in when everyone over 60 dies.

That is an excellent question, one for which I have no ready answer. The fact remains that there can be only two variants of a 1-state solution: a democratic state that increasingly undermines Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people, or an apartheid state that increasingly delegitimatizes Israel.

J.J. Goldbergis absolutely correct when he notes:

The irony is that Netanyahu’s record on security is a resounding failure. For all his rhetoric, Iran’s nuclear project has raced forward on his watch. His six years have seen three wars, all ending inconclusively. Hamas is unbowed. West Bank terrorism has spiked after a seven-year hiatus as the peace process has stalled and Palestinian frustration has grown. Now he risks losing security coordination with the Palestinian Authority.

Amid all this, Netanyahu’s relations with his own security apparatus have reached an unprecedented low. He ignores his own intelligence, to the point where he tried to prevent the head of the Mossad from meeting with visiting senators in January, for fear he’d tell them what Israel really knows about the Iran threat. The country’s defenders in turn are afraid of his recklessness.

Netanyahu’s apologists are trying in the last few days to claim Israelis are united on these issues. That’s nonsense.

The bottom line: The center-left opposition had a stronger argument on security and peace than Netanyahu did, but it was afraid to make its case. Despite the unprecedented outpouring of anti-Netanyahu protest from retired defense and intelligence chiefs — including nearly every former head of the Mossad and Shin Bet and one-third of all living ex-generals — Herzog and his allies steered clear of them.

In effect, they told voters, don’t look to us to protect you from the threats that surround Israel. And Israelis listened.

You must not be familiar with liberalism and leftist ideologies which vary. Im surprised one could be so simple witch such a complicated subject. Then again I'm reading your posts..

Claiming that you stand for equality against racism and as a result deny someones right to self determination is totalitarian idea. Liberalism/leftism is a fascist like idea where we are correct and anyone who thinks differently must be a hater or racist. A very totalitarian, egoistic, imperialistic idea sounds like fascism to me.

Excellent question.

There are 22 arab states with a palestinian state in Jordan.

They don't need another one within the tiny only Jewish state in the world.

I hear both variants of the 1-state. However, the alternative 2-state, has only 1 variant at present: dead Israelis. And in my opinion, delegitimized, live Jews trump legitimized dead ones. It simply comes down to my family's safety is more important than theirs. And they are more than welcome to head back to Lebanon and Jordan if apartheid is not to their liking.
Like I posted in the other thread, if there was a way to ensure so level of peace as in the case of Abu Ghosh, I might be inclined to feel differently (depending on whether that also included real assurance that other anti-Israel nations would never be allowed footholds by them). But as no such assurance could be readily made at this point in time, my life takes precedence.

Honestly, I don't know enough about politics to follow the discussion about what Netanyahu did or should have done.

And I don't watch movies for religious reasons.

I am a Zionist and I completely agree with one Jewish state.

Despite of over 60 years of trying, and how generous the offers, the arab leaders continue to call for the complete destruction of Israel.

We also see what happened when Israel completely pulled out of Gaza nine years ago. Islamic extremists fortify it and it becomes a terror base.

This attitude doesn't seem to have any hope of changing within my lifetime.

This "palestinian state" is just a rouse to try and destroy all of Israel.

Enough of this charade. It's gone on long enough.

That is a convenient lie.

That's easy to say from your nice comfortable chair far, far away from the front lines.
However, if you were to come here and experience the mentality for yourself for longer than a birthright trip, you would not be saying that.
Do you honestly think Hamas would stop arming themselves once given open borders and money to build? And let's not forget that PA is run by Fatah, not Happy Democracy Government Inc.
There's simply no way to ensure safety. And that's what comes first.

You have no answer for it but Jews can keep dying to suit your ideological views until you can come up with something. So how many Jews need to die until you have the answer?

If German Jews didn't lile wearing yellow stars they should've just simply moved, right?

If the Native Americans didn't like genocide, they should've moved
Right?

Or how about Africans in South Africa? If They didn't like being subjected to aparthied, they should've moved, right? So many black countries in Africa!

Wow!

I get home from work just now to find out the "polls" were phony, that in fact Bibi's victory was huge!

My Way News - Netanyahu surges to victory in Israeli vote

This is really exciting, I may take a vacation to Israel just to celebrate. I haven't been there before, any suggestions the best time of the year to visit?

Also, does anyone know how I can buy for my collection (posters) one of those Bibi election posters? They will become highly collectible considering he is and will become even more such a significant historical leader and great leader at that.

You can't keep a good man down! The UK PM sent his congrats over, it was a very nice one indeed.

Obama's hatred of Bibi, his leftist minions on the ground, all HELPED Bibi. If you don't want to lose, keep a 10 foot pole between yourself and this cry baby and his J.V. team Obamanists.

I have some sympathy for this position, since I think Islamist militants are not to be trusted and Hamas is no exception, but Israel is a nuclear power and you chose the neighborhood. Give them a state and they'll probably be impotent anyway, until they overcome their religious extremism. If not, you'll become pariah internationally and eventually suffer the same fate as apartheid South Africa.

Interesting ... I get home from work checking my email, and there is an email from Tim Constantine inviting me to the Town Hall via Phone Q&A with Ambassador Bolton tomorrow on Israel (as well as ISIS and Russia).

I am seriously busy tomorrow, there is NO request for any campaign donation or anything like that, but it might be problematic to be on the phone at 12 noon tomorrow - they say I would receive a call directly to me and then join me into the live Town Hall where there will be Q&A.

Were any of you invited?

My question would be what we can do to mend the damage Obama has caused with our ally Israel and with Bibi?

You know, I once was at a forum (well, it was my Dad who arranged it for me) where I met with personally former Sec. of State Henry Kissinger. He was "Superman" (cover of some magazine, I think it was Time Magazine at the time) in those days. Today he is the size of an elephant, however, but a great Jew I believe.

I am not a Jew, by the way, but I love Israel. Anyway, this is such a great victory for Bibi, I just may dial into the conversation with Bolton and put in a talking point to get Bolton to praise and congrat Bibi.

while arabs in Israel act as the 5th column, what normal country would allow that? If arabs do not want to live in a Jewish state they are free to leave, no one is holding them back and if that goes against Western democracy, who cares? Israel is a Jewish first and democracy second.

That's funny I know quite a lot of Israelis who would say that the Religious parties with their wet dream of a Religious Ruled Israel are actually a 5th column.

My question would be what we can do to mend the damage Obama has caused with our ally Israel and with Bibi?

Is it opposite day already?

Its going to be fun to see how Netanyahu copes with Clinton as US President, because there is one thing certain in the world: The Republicans are going to be obliterated in the next election.

It simply comes down to my family's safety is more important than theirs.

As long as any significant number of voters believes in that, it may well be futile to hope for peace.

Understandable as such a stance may be, it is also in essence a demand for foreigners to hope for your extinction.

I fear for you all.
