I feel about CPAs about the way you do about lawyers.

Probably shouldn't say this...but I have only meant 1 CPA that I thought was ok and this CPA was a woman...all the other CPAs I have meant are men and a bit weird and if not weird...incredibly dull

I got a hold of the mom today. Turns out she doesn't even live where the referral says she does.
And during a visit today, according to the case manager dad smells like cat, but I thinking I'm getting the office bug that's being passed around and I can't smell worth a damn. But dad did say his PO is coming over to his home after the visit because she thinks he has too many cats; dad claims to have none.
I get to work from home for a few hours then run to town to have mom fill out some paper work.

During the visit today, the case manager and I both took notes. And comparing mine to her, it's amazing how different the two notes are that covered the same event. My note was way more neutral, unbiased, and reporting just the facts as I decided to take my notes in a journalist style of writing. Her notes were in a tone that was fairly condemning of dad. Not that dad looks like a saint in mine, but at least in mine the reader would get the sense he's at least trying to try. Her's you get the sense he's just a piece of ****, and that's how she seems to think of him.

With my gross pay, tomorrow is my first check ever with four digits! My first check with comma in it! It's still in the 3-digit range with net, but wow I've never had so much money all at once.

This morning, around 5am, I heard coyotes yipping & yoweling.
They were enjoying some deer guts out in my woods.
(A friend gutted one he shot with his crossbow.)

Congratulations on achieving poverty!
Poverty was the gas stations, inventory, warehouses, and fast food. But now I'm making about 2 to 4 times more than I've made at any other job. I may just barely be above the federal poverty line, but the cost of living here is so low that this position, a position with a reputation for not paying much, relatively pays a decent chunk of money, especially for an entry level position. And I don't hate my job, which is a mega-huge plus, it has good benefits, and it will help me pay for school.

That's good.
Yeah. If I wasn't going back to school for my master's degree I could easily afford to move out on my own, and unlike every other time I've been on my own I wouldn't need any form of assistance, I wouldn't go hungry and be able to only afford cheapy-cheap pizzas and spaghetti, I wouldn't struggle with bills, and I could still get a decent savings going. But around August it'll I'll probably be down to part-time as I'd be juggling a job, school, and unpaid clinical hours.

Regarding my case, I made contact with mom today and met her tonight. Turns out her boyfriend killed himself, she feels the DCS caseworker is making things hard for her, she thinks it's wrong the DCS caseworker had her take a drug screen (mouth swab) during her visitation (it's standard procedure), she probably has a drug problem (but she is open to the idea of drug treatment, though she denies doing drugs), and the case manager with me thinks she might be a stripper the way she danced around the question of employment without really directly answering the question.
"This will be a good case to cut your teeth with" they told me in the office. I want the sleepy dad and the crazy guy people are scared of. This crazy ***** though, she's of sound mind, literate, has a coherent and orderly thought process, but she's gonna try and tell me someone did something to her that made her black out and she woke up in the hospital being treated for an OD. She acts too normal for me to be believing that, and unlike everything else she had no details to give me about that incident, just that someone did something and poof there she is at the hospital. Later on, the case manager with me said if something like that happened to her she would describe it with all the details, and I agreed as someone who has blacked out once.

Two things I wonder about with Game of Thrones:
What do the Stark words change to once winter isn't coming anymore and is finally here?
Everyone points out the cruelty and barbarism of Jeoffry, but no one seems to consider that Meryn Trent was the one often carrying out the orders of Jeoff's monstrosity without hesitation or doubt or any shred of moral turmoil.

It appears that you might be very good at this line of work.
