Its true, and take if from me you don't want to get Linux without someone to help you at least a little. If you aren't already in the club and a user of Emacs or not in a relationship with a programmer or IT person then don't. There are all sorts of techniques, tips, and tricks that you will want to know; and these are just terms that mean D.M.P.D. 'Deep magic poorly documented'.

Absolutely, we only use Red Hat in enterprise. But there is something out there that is basically a free version of Red Hat, without the support, that I use for testing

The Dems should work on finding an "L. Simpson" to run in 2020. Groening got Trump winning right, so why shouldn't he get it right when Trump is done?

I turned my phone on, and listened to my voice mails over the weekend. One of my clients called me to let me know the Eagles won the super bowl. "Gave the patriots the bird" he said. xD

I really don't want to work today. Thought it probably wouldn't be so bad if my day, and week even, wasn't starting with the four year old. The adults I'm seeing after aren't so bad, though. But the mom of the two brothers I have, I could send mom a message saying I'm sending her boys to live with a revived Manson Family and she'd probably do nothing about it and I need to get a hold of her. Then I have the DCS case, which isn't too bad.

Its a nice release of Linux. I have worked with it a few times, use to have a Linux box on my desk, but I took it off and a Mac and a Windows 10 PC sits there now
Be thankful you don't use my operating system, BOS.
At least you don't have to throw DIP switches or deal
with IRQ settings to configure yours.

Somehow, having been in the IT world for many years....I don't see needing to use DIP switches and mucking around with IRQ settings, or Business Operating System as a step forward

Beware multi-user British operating systems from the mid-80s.
The big complexities come in when expanding serial ports
for all the dumb terminals.

Negotiation can be worthwhile. My wife's system died and I went to Frys (after a bit of searching) to get a new one. I decided on it, $100 discount for a great system, and said to the sales guy to write it up. But he could not find one in a box. So I said "give me an out of box discount or give me a $100 discount on the comparable one over there or I walk out of the store". I got $50 which I thought was reasonable. The machine is now doing it's initial update dance.
