Fishy fishy fishy fishy fishy fishy fishy. :D

Yeah, not quite fully functioning on all cylinders yet. Must go get...:coffee:

Bert and Ernie were fishing. Bert wasn't getting a bite, but all Ernie had to was call, "Here, fishy, fishy, fishy..." and a fish would jump into the boat. Bert tried it and all he got was a note that asked "Where is that other guy".

Yes, I used to watch Sesame Street with my kids.

I don't remember the note one, but I do remember this one:

I've been in a canoe fishing with my husband and he's been caught saying out loud to the fish "Here, fishy, fishy, fishy, fishy!!!" trying to lure them in. It's been YEARS AND YEARS since we've watched that show with our kids. Some things never get old. :)

I was reminded today the elections are coming up. I'm so glad I don't have any sort of TV service to remind me of how pathetic and desperate the American election cycle is. It's not the worse in the world, but there is no excuse for amount of room for improvement, the massive amount of money, or the country taking the same general direction regardless of whether a politician has an R or a D attached to their name. I think seeing another countries election cycle is now up on my list of things I really want to see in another country, like coverage of the Olympic games.

I was looking into some companies that produce pre-employment personality tests, and one company (I think it was PeopleAnswer, the company Fazolis uses), claims there test can reduce turnover rate by 31%. This being based on a study that had a whopping grand total super sized sample size of 33. Another company mixes the results of those who are age 15-mid 60's all together, meaning that those who are not even old enough to work or have a fully matured brain are impacting hiring "decisions" for those who have been in the work force for a decade or more. The sample size for that was 1100. Better than 33, but still pretty small for what it's supposed to do. And another company confused "video testimonial" for "video case study," and the links for there real case studies you either have to sign up to access or the link takes you to a site that does not bring you to the case study.

Hot chocolate is the best thing for a cold.

My Hungarian grand-mother always says to have a lot of honey when having a cold.

Speaking of hot drinks, I wish I had some more rooibos tea, no caffeine and such a unique, sweet taste... I love it.

I'm going to a restaurant later, it's for my birthday (even though it's technically the 12th). Never went there so I hope it's good! I've been eating vegetarian lately and although they don't have many options, they sounded a lot nicer than just the same old pizza and pasta options you get in other places. Plus they make their menus based on the seasonal veggies. I think I'll have their roast beet, feta and sweet potato cakes. Sounds yummy!

Yesterday was one of those days. An 8.5 hour shift, over half of which was in a department where I have had no actual training, and afterwards a 2 hour mid-term consisting of nothing but writing.

On the plus side, today is my second interview for Produce Assistant at my store. :) If I get this job, that would mean a raise and a stable schedule.

One of my coworkers went on a rant about the "secret Zionist conspiracy" to control the world's money supply this morning, and then seemed genuinely surprised that I didn't agree with him.

I think he might start quoting from "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" any day now.

It truely amazes me how many people, including those who weild real power and influence, actually believe that crap.

An old joke:

An old Jew is walking through the ghetto when he sees an even older Jew sitting on the ground reading The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The first Jew stops and says "We don't have food, we don't have money, we're forced to live in this God foresaken slum, and you sit there reading that dreck? Why?"

The second Jew replies "I like to hear about how all-powerful I am."
