Being a kid when the Cold War came to an end, I remember a blur of red, white and blue pro-America hopes and dreams and promises, and the victory lap to show off the fancy new toys that was Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

Yeah. Because after that things kept getting worse for Russia, we had violence and war going on outside of America, terrorism and cults here, we did have an economic boom to help us getting started in work, but when it came time for my age group to be promoted at work we found we would be promoted, but we'd be expected to do way more for way less than those who came before us because we got to ride an economic roller coaster up just before it went down.

I'm still puzzled as to how anyone got the idea I look like a hipster. It doesn't upset me, but, at the same time, I feel like a Dalek who is highly confused, not really agitated, but yet "EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN! EXPLAIN!" is how I feel about it.

I think most of the movie of Sin City gets a bit worse and cheesy and corny every time I watch it. But I'm still fascinated by the cinematography, visuals, and editing in it.

Why's that? I love the dark. I love the macabre. I can't get enough of it.

It's hard to explain, maybe. I don't care much for the movie itself, but I have a deep admiration for it on an artistic level in how they went about doing it. Like it being mostly black and white save for some visual enhancements, the florescent blood, the creepy shadows, and how all the stories get weaved together.
