And sperm donor drama/**** continues, but my mom hasn't filled me in on all of it, other than that apparently he told his son some stuff, he told my mom some stuff, and my mom told me that sperm donor apparently said it was a "lie about moving [to California] and other bull****."

Even though I've outgrown the basic and simple story behind it, really a part of what made Star Wars the legacy that it is the enormous amount of artistic creativity that went into the original Trilogy. It wasn't computers or digitally carved models, the Death Star was tooth picks and pop sickle sticks. And for what everything "actually" was, it was very impressive.
But anymore, the stories are rubbish, events done too many times already, and a great cheapening of what it means to be the "chosen one" with how easy it now apparently is to master the force. And doing all the special effects with computers is just cheap and very average and normal anymore, failing to reflect the creative mastery that went into the Trilogy.
I'm not going to judge this one until it comes out. It might be as you wrote or it might be great. We'll see.
