Turns out my motherboard isn't upgradable with much.

That may actually be okay if in a pinch because as I was reading your specs, I did see that your CPU is still enough and you could just go with a great video card. I had a similar performance CPU in an old PC.

All having a new CPU will do for you for games, is turbocharge things a bit. We're really talking only a 40% performance increase from it.

But your CPU is still like twice as powerful as what's found in the PS4 Pro or XBox One X.

My main issue is really the processor and graphics card. For a couple years now both have been failing to meet even minimum requirements. Several years ago I could play pretty much anything on max graphic settings (Borderlands 2 was a highlight back then), then it started to not be the case, and now I need an upgrade for some new games coming out, mostly Baulder's Gate 3 and (I am going to cry if it sucks because I love this series so much) Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2.

I wonder....
If I got better go board, would I be a better go player?

my first OS cert was Windows 3.11, and it was very helpful when I went to work for the state who was using WIndows 95....
You're clearly a young'un. Back in the day when nerds were real nerds, I was toggling in the jump sequence on the IMSAI 8080 front panel to load Northstar DOS.

First computer class in college was Fortran using punch cards and computers ran on 5 1/4 floppy disks.....the whole windows thing came years later.....I was an auto-mechanic before I lost my mind, went completely off the deep end, and went into IT...but yes...compared to you and...well other old geezers on RF...I'm a young'in
