My mom's family is easy.
My grandma was born to an Irish father who immigrated here and married my great grandmother, herself born of an Irish immigrant and first gen here, born of two Irish immigrants parents.
This side I know well enough to know if I'm related to someone of the same family name by knowing who their parents or aunts and uncles are, and how far away we are.
Grandpa was of Irish and Norwegian stock with a line of German.
My dad's family though gets trickier.
Apparently his grandfather (or great, it's been awhile since I've asked) was of Irish-Norman heritage, and his grandmother (or great grandmother) was Cherokee. That's his moms family.
His dad's family is unknown mostly but with speculation possible.
I have always wondered though if my dad is really my dad because everyone in his family has black or brown hair. But though the seed is strong with that trait, a fiery golden haired child was born.

Hubby traces himself back to vikings that invaded Lancashire, there is a tiny village to mark the name. Which shows up in small pockets all over the world now.

We both had an ancestor sail on one of the first boats to america (the Anne). Essentially founders of your fair nation. There were only 72 passengers so chances are his ancestor and mine met. We see it as a sign... A sign of what we do not know

Well, except for that royalty thing that ruined the bloodline...I come from a long line of malcontents. . I am doing more research on the family, my mother's side is the rowdy bunch. I am starting to look more into my father's side. so far I do know they were in England and Germany

My wife's side goes back a long LONG ways....not sure how far, but being Han people, and they trace back 8000 to 9000 years, and her family name says at one point someone in her family had something to do with the Emperor of China.

I washed the outside of my mom's van, giving it the same level of effort I would my own.
She was literally taken aback and froze for a second and gasped as she saw her super clean and polished and buffed exterior.
Next is detail cleaning the interior (it's going to take me a few days).

Well, my services would be wasted on such a backwoods, provincial, primitive, and unsophisticated trough, if he wants to pay to I'll find a way to wade out in that.
I can't guarantee a tire shine though. I mean, I'll usually be a proactive problem solver, it's gonna be hard enough as it is just spraying some water to get the undercarriage as best as I can. And he will have to take me to an Americanstanian h/motel so I can shower and clean up before I go about my own business because I'll make his car inside dirty with my dirt from cleaning his stuff, but my car I'm just not willing to do it.

It really depends. Some yes. Some no. Some are tying to be overly complicated and try to fuse a yes and no. While another says the people don't care about such philosophical differences. While another says that philosophy is critical to learning how to improve the plight of the worker. And then another one yet comes along and says do it my way.
