If I may give some feedback as an Arab educated in both Arabic and English myself; Arabic is really really complicated. In this context, the verb "to-be"; i.e. هي, is not to be used. The right way to put it is المقاومة عقيمة without هي. That a literal translation too. The accurate contextual translation here for "futile" is بدون جدوى and the rhetorical way to put it is before المقاومة so the accurate formal translation is لا جدوى من المقاومة.

Of course your translation still gives the meaning in full, so really well done . It just sounds kinda weird to Arabs. That's actually a thing electronic translators, like Google Translate, are known to do and Arabs became aware of it

Things are lost in translation and sound weird. I know because one language I speak, Hungarian, is quite unique ( and the translation on that can be strange. I read something once that said it sucks for gendered nouns in any language. I know that going from English to German doesn't work very well beyond simple sentences, and is so noticeable that my German teacher would heavily penalize it's use. It's good for words, but babylon I think is much better because it gives you the definition of words.

I tried to find a Borg avatar to use, but so far I haven't found anything I'd want to use. "Resistance is futile" does make an appearance in the story I'm writing right now though.
Another announcement is I am now into my third day without eating any meat.
I was also put on a bi-polar/schizophrenia pill for my depression and anxiety, and to help me sleep. I've actually slept pretty good, I feel pretty "flat," which feels better than where I've been, but I don't get that awesome kick-*** feeling after a work-out, which really sucks.

I changed it to 'freedom to choose.' (under my religion) I hope it translates well.
I want to learn Arabic, my friends from Syria teach me some catch phrases, and basic words...but to perform Salat entirely in Arabic (by memory) and understand it, would be amazing. Right now, I still need to follow along in writing, both Arabic and English.

Someday, maybe...........

My drive to work sucked. It wasn't snow, it wasn't ice, it was sludge. I even slid off into a ditch, but fortunately I was able to tap the brake and get my car swerved back onto the road. My drive back home sucked, though not as much because I didn't slid off the road.

Be careful tho, Arabic slang (informal Arabic) is so different than formal Arabic. Salat uses formal Arabic the most for the basics. Different accents and dialects also differ big deal to each other. Just to let you know.

Btw, "habibi" has different meanings, and it does not really mean baby. I think you already know that, but if you don't, I'm willing to explain.

I mean, I have to take my little sister to her school first, travel ~45 miles to next city, and deal with tons of diversions and detours. Not to mention this is Saudi Arabia ha!
