They are not song birds. The are characterized by a harsh sounding squawk. And I strongly dislike their high level of aggression. I also never really thought about killing them until they attacked my mom's dog and the cats began to flee from them.
When they take over, it's like the bird version of the Hell's Angels, particularly and especially when it comes to the noise, aggression, and potential for violence.

And the real reason for animosity?
Everyone bashes on us but everyone--especially Texans--move here. Texans especially. A lot of Texans. Hordes of Texans. So many Texas is the number 1 non-California license plates I see.
Californistan & Texas....get a room!

With a humongous budget surplus that puts the lie to many of you assertions.

But living where you do, the jealousy is understandable.

The 2021-22 Budget
California's Fiscal Outlook
The annual Fiscal Outlook publication gives our office’s independent assessment of the California state budget condition for the upcoming fiscal year and over the longer term. We find the budget situation has improved considerably relative to the June budget act with an estimated $26 billion windfall in 2021-22. However, the state also faces an operating deficit beginning in 2021-22 and throughout the outlook period, growing to $17 billion by 2024-25. Our analysis also finds it is quite unlikely for revenues to grow fast enough for the budget to break even and erase the operating deficit.

A list of the 50 most miserable cities in America: The 50 Most Miserable Cities in the US, Based on Census Data (businessinsider.com)

Topping the charts at number 1 is Gary, Indiana.

5d5e94caad2b471aa02c4782

Number 2 is Port Arthur, Texas, although most of their misery seems to be due to the number of times they've been hit by hurricanes.

Number 3 is Detroit.

5d5e97fd91b6f61e686f4e44

Detroit has 672,000 people, and from 2010 to 2018 it lost nearly 6%. While 54% of people are working, 38% live in poverty. The median household income is $27,838.

The city already lost many of its residents between 1950 and 1980, when 600,000 people left after the manufacturing industry collapsed. With 43,000 abandoned homes, it's been struggling with blight and is considered one of the most dangerous cities in the United States.

So, one thing that Texans and Californians can agree upon - at least it's not Detroit. And not New Jersey, either, as Passaic and Newark made numbers 4 and 5 on the list, respectively.
