Oh, really....in which IRS publication did you find that one?
But no matter...claim away. Tis better to see what you can
get away with, & ask for forgiveness if you get caught.
This stuff is only important to me when it's important.
I couldn't even recall what the tax form I get is called the other day when someone asked.
But this is people who started teaching me independent contracting deductions, a thingy on Turbotax mentioned it first time I tried that as an independent contractor, and various tax attorney websites. There are stipulations to it, and it's not all food in general, but it is a category we get.
And by the time I've entered everything else because food isn't that much I'm usually just done with it and go with all the "more direct" expenses.
The shocker is, I was taught by a goody-two-shoes at the place I was a case manager to even apply "it's better to ask forgiveness than permission" even there. And when I say goody-two-shoes, this guy only likes weed going legal because he thinks potheads are terrible parents and end up in the DCS system, and he didn't cheat the system where otherwise they encouraged us to. But it's something I like to live by.

Anyone want a car? It just needs a little TLC.

Even if it were a Porsche (not picky about what kind), GT, RX-8, or Exige that is too much work for me.
Now, I say that, and I look at that list of cars.....
.....I would probably totally restore it depending on how bad it is under the hood (that passanger side axle, for example, is an area of concern that could mean bad damage or highly severe damage).

I have to wait to have it towed away according to city ordinances. But Commonwealth law states I can auction or trade it . lol

I see. Hopefully you'll make some cash off it. If it's being recycled, I've heard of people sometimes making some cash off old cars, for example, just from what I've heard.

The light bars are back on my car. Now I'm just letting my stomach settle from the nausea I get from doing stuff like this before I get the wires secured. Let my nausea settle again. Then get electricity going through it again.

Oh, I seem to have skipped you saying "trade or auction" - that'd probably get the most money.

What if you stripped out all the parts and pieces and sold the ones you can and sold the rest as scrap?
Seems to be a viable way to et around city ordinances. Although I suspect other than maybe a few things (catalytic converters are hot items) you'll get more from one of those places that just gives you a chunk of cash for a car in any condition.

I thought about that. Then I thought it'd be too much like work. I will have my maintenance guy check and see about the converter tomorrow. That's a good starting idea.

Deadpool needs to impale Mickey on his katanas so there can be a third Deadpool movie. In a world superhero movies of morally upright superheroes, moody and angry heroes, stiff and boring superheroes, and superheroes who are just too perfect, we need Deadpool. for there to be a brilliant and amusing superhero movie that's worth watching multiple times. Because he's Deadpool, the single reason Marvel can say it has better superheroes over DC.

Yeah. Stripping a car would be too much like work.
Doing the maintenance and such kind of is, but time is saved (with some things, anyways) and money is saved (TONS of it) and there is plenty of fun to be had after cleaning up. So it's not like work.

Deadpool is all that is needed to say. But that other stuff is cool, too.:p

Where I have the wires under my car is tons better this time around.
And now my car is high risk going through an automated car wash. But they suck anyways.

Unless you travel for work, I wouldn't deduct anything for food.
It's a red flag for tax evasion. One should play the game to
avoid, but not so aggressively as to evade.
(I have some successful experience with IRS audits.)

20 years ago I missed that George Harrison died.
Family Guy got me caught up when it had Ringo telling the rest of the Beatles "I outlive two of you."

Without Star Trek I would have grown into a vacuous and self ignorant happy person. Thank you, Gene, for ruining my life.
