It's a crime isolated confinement is still used here as it is (it's another area America failed to walk into the 21st century with the rest of the modern world), but it is interesting to watch videos of inmates passing around notes while they are locked up in that torture. It is basically the survival drive of a mind that is breaking, but how notes can be tossed out and "fished" in--amd the lengths inmates go to undue threads from clothing without snapping the thread and practice to actually accomplish lassoing in a note--it is incredible.

There has just been a courtcase where the perp was found guilty of murdering a young woman in London. Isolated confinement would be the only way to keep him alive during his confinement. He was a policeman and prisoners tend to 'have it in' for cops
