Watch: Truck crash covers New York City expressway in peppers - UPI.com

July 26 (UPI) -- An early morning crash on a New York City expressway caused traffic to be restricted to one lane because the roadway was covered in peppers.

Authorities said the tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on Monday morning when it overturned, spilling a mass of peppers into the roadway at Exit 30 to Flushing Avenue.

The driver was most likely Peter Piper, who, instead of paying attention to his driving, he was trying to pick a peck of pickled peppers.

Last week was hot, edging up to 38c (100f). Since Sunday its been dropping 4 degrees a day to today's 26c (79f). And threatening rain that has not materialised. Tomorrow looks cooler still with storms due in the afternoon... I hope the threatened storms also don't materialise, we have been invited to a garden party tomorrow...
