Reminds me of a long ago issue of National Lampoon.
It was a cartoon about adolescent boys & girls being
separated into different sex ed classes. The boys
learned the basics. The girls were taught how to use
their assets to manipulate the boys.
I liked how boys were drawn as slack jawed clueless dolts.
Little did I know that it wasn't humor.

At least this is one are where I have higher standards than other folk.

I know, was seriously involved with a woman who was 1/4 Chinese and 3/4 Italian, I've been married to an Italian American 91st Generation USA), engaged to a Polish/American ,and I'm married to a Chinese woman...and dated a few others before all that...you all do the same exact thing...... get upset and surprised when you present us with an impossible task, you know we can't do...when we can't do it.....

Medium rare has minimal contamination. Properly handled and prepared rare is just fine. Much like sushi made with raw fish. It's just fine when properly stored and handled.

Those things suggest potential failure.
As for sushi, I eschew the kinds with raw fish.
