The Russians blamed their soldiers for using cellphones which allowed the Ukrainians to target their missiles at them. Why would they be using their cellphones in a war zone anyway?

Reminds me of a story I heard from a Civil War re-enactor. He said that someone pulled out a cellphone during Pickett's Charge.

They could be using cell phones to contact their families.

Although it may sound far-fetched...... I have been hearing stories about the Ukranians using just about any means necessary to get an edge on the troops, which includes outsmarting the Russian soldiers, leading them astray, and setting them up. And I even heard a story where the Ukranians pretended to be Russian soldiers to get info and a confession from a Russian soldier.

Sometimes it seems like we're living in the Hogan's Heroes show, eh?

Yep. In Hogan's Heroes, threatening to send someone to the Russian Front was a common gag. You could be court-martialed, shot, and then sent to the Russian Front, in that order.

Yep. In those times, you didn't want to be against the Russian line, and now, you don't want to be a member of the Russian line.

It's out of place for the other thread so here I shall place it here;
Mother Mary, won't you whisper
Something but what's past and done.

There's a shadow just behind me
Shrouding every step I take
Making every promise empty
Pointing every finger at me
Waiting like a stalking butler
Who upon the finger rests
Murder now the path of must we
Just because the Son has come

We're support to have a break from rain tomorrow. But in the House, the pissing contest resumes.

We had a break yesterday and early this morning and then later today.
But we had a nice, enjoyable, pleasant, house-rumbling thunderstorm complete with a couple flashes of lightning that turned the world white.

Hopefully my new resume is also improved and will get me something. I'm not bold faced lying on it, but I am bluffing my way through a failed straight draw. Except there's no catching me in this bluff.

When I was young, I used to watch lightning outside my bedroom window at night. It's a great show.

I hate it when drug info stuff gets the stuff wrong.
Like the rumor and myth of LSD being cut with strychnine. No, that's not really what's going on and most likely what happened is the drug wasn't LSD but a fake an entirely different substance known for giving those "strychnine" side effects (NBome is frequently the culprit).
This is often and frequently government and university sources that get this wrong.

I had a boss who would have carved you up like a sushi chef does to tuna. He was trained as an interrogator during his time in Naval intelligence. After filleting an applicant one day while I was in the room, he told the poor dude that no one would ever do this to him again but that he should learn to be prepared for deep questions about anything on a resume.
