I miss walking in the woods as a family for Christmas greenery. Even after we got the silver aluminum tree in the early sixties, we took the walk for mistletoe, holly, and cedar boughs to decorate around the front door and make the Yule Log centerpiece for the dining room table. I have enough small cedars on my 1/2 acre of woods to do the table centerpiece, but no holly. My oldest would be willing to take me to public game land for the hunt, but unfortunately the deer hunters, the dog runners, not the treestand hunters, can be "very" rude for disturbing their sport, so we don't bother.I know this is sounding very old and geezerly..... but I miss Christmas of the old days.....
One year, about 10 years ago, I was determined to have a live tree off of my own land. Maybe I should do it again? LOL
