I got another offer for a loan. If I get my car running in time (I have till March 6) I'm going to take the money in run. I have a ton of stress in my own life without having everybody else adding a mountain of stress on top of it. ****. I borrowed some money from my sister so I could get an alternator for my car, and last night she told me she's in a pinch and needs some of that money, despite the fact she has income, I do not, and she has money for gas to drive all over the place and for pot, but yet she's needing that money back because she's pissing her money away. My mom, my dad, and I are all about ready to strangle her.

Turns out, I may get some work helping a guy build all the stuff for a music/concert/head shop, as well as running it once it's open.

Handy tip for using air fresheners for vehicles (if, like myself, you deal with kids and spouse that seem to draw who knows what into your vehicle) : For cold months use tree fresheners but instead of hanging them from the mirror or power plug cap or the like, lay them across the defroster vent in your dash and hook them to the grate. They are out of the way and every time you warm your car or defrost your window your car fills with the freshener scent. Learned that by sheer accident when I tossed one that didn't have much scent left up on the dash and it slid over to the vent. Within minutes my whole van smelled like jasmine. And that was with an old one. I don't recommend using a brand new one like that. :p

Or, bathe your kids. Not gettin' judgy or nuffin, but........

As an aside, doing that with a Bounce dryer sheet will get rid of the cigarette smell in a used car.

Ran some tests, my fuel pump is definitely not bad. I'm getting a new fuel filter though, and hoping the one I have on my car now is just clogged.
Too bad when you buy a car, there isn't some sort of "will occasionally stump even mechanics with decades of experience" warning if your car is particularly difficult.

I need to coat the entirety of the inside of my husband's car with Bounce dryer sheets apparently. Smells like you're driving a big ashtray.

The hubby is far worse when it comes to leaving trash behind (empty food wrappers, coffee cups, empty cig packs,...), but the kids do drop stuff they are snacking on from time to time and I don't find it until I'm pulling out the seats to thoroughly vacuum or something. Nothing like finding old french fries and gummy snacks in the seat tracks in the floor.

I just replaced some old flickering fluorescent office lights with LEDs.
The new ones are the same color temperature, have no flicker, & have no ultraviolet light in their spectrum.
One idiot working for the tenant complained that after 5 minutes it was hurting his eyes.
Everyone ignored him.

My phone's little "in use" light was blinking when I know we weren't using the phone. I picked it up and pressed "talk" and heard a bit of static and then a series of clicks then nothing. I hit "flash" and I got dial tone for a second or two then it dialed itself and then I heard what sounded like a cross between a fax line noise and the noise dial up would make. While it was still going I flashed back, dead air, flashed back again, dial tone, and back once more, dial tone. Anyone have any idea what the hell that was possibly about?

That didn't work (fuel filter). Right now, I'm at a total loss as what to do.
Guess I'm officially stranded for at least a few days until it gets a bit warmer and I can get my friend's brother out here again to start checking pretty much everything.
