My thing, when it comes to finding a job now, is having the right info on an app or my resume to get called in for an interview in the first place. I'm not worried about interviewing at all. Granted, things may have changed for me now over a decade since I've last had to interview, but as it stands, I've never interviewed for a job I wasn't ultimately offered. Some right on the spot. I'm just concerned with getting the interview in the first place.
You need to find someone who is or has been a mother who can understand your background. I'm not really joking about this. It's not necessary but it would be helpful.

I philosophy in life I've held for many years is that those of us without a criminal record are just the ones who didn't get caught.
During my interview today, the lady interviewing ACTUALLY SAID THOSE EXACT WORDS! How one responds to that during a job interview, for a social worker position, I have no idea. But as far as preparing for an interview goes, that one definitely was way beyond an "unknown unknown."

I also got to editing those letters today from the jail inmate. I only started one of them though. Needless to say, it is rather difficult to turn someone's *****ing and crying that they got caught and their self-thrown pity party into a political statement of repression and violated rights (though he did have some valid points, such as them refusing to let him attend religious services).

Is this national tailgating day?
I will play with tailgaters as long as I can. Tapping the brakes sometimes works to get people to back off, but I prefer slowing to a crawl when I know they can't get around me. You want to eat my bumper jerkwad? Here, have a nice long meal of it. Enjoy.

I've done the same in the interest of safety. If I need to stop quickly, I don't want their %*#$ front end inside the cabin of my car.

It just seemed every time I looked in my mirror this morning on the way to work that all I saw filling it was a car/truck/van riding my bumper. And in some of those cases I was on a 3 lane highway in the right lane. I will admit with the second to last one I did take extra precautions, to make sure it was safe, to leave the intersection...basically I would only move when I saw that there were no cars on the horizon...and that is hard to do early in the morning ;)

I was rear-ended sitting at a stop sign once. Bright red car, red stop sign, noon, bright sunny day...kid in half ton pick up rolled right up into me and claimed..."I thought you already pulled out". He had a homemade brushbar on that bad boy too. Not rounded, no, flat metal. Skewered my trunk all the way to about an inch shy of my back window.

Want the icing on the cake? It was his first vehicle of his own, he was 19 and his dad bought it for him for graduation or something, it was bought the day before he hit me,...and...the insurance was put on officially two hours before he hit me. Something tells me daddy wasn't happy.

Ever been in a chain-reaction? I was stopped behind someone who was waiting to make a left turn. Someone was stopped behind me. Wham/wham/wham. Then there was the guy who moved far to the right slowing down and seemingly ready to park on the right side of the road before making a sharp left from that position.

Sweet. No, never been in a chain reaction. Barely missed one though. In Jacksonville FL I was on the highway, far left lane because up a ways there would be stop lights and I had to turn left. There was a break in the median and this little old lady who could barely see over her steering wheel managed to cross the opposite side of the highway and into the left lane of traffic right behind me. Let me say, at 70mph this was not a wise thing to do given the stream of traffic behind me. Yeah, I could see the cluster**ck in my rearview mirror. :(

I've had several close calls though. One nearly did me in emotionally. On a highway here in town, left lane coming up on lighted intersection. Had the green, steady traffic to my right and this minivan cuts over in front of me at the very last possible second to come to a complete stop in the middle of the intersection to try to turn left. There was still traffic in the right lane, couldn't dodge, so slammed on my brakes and barely stopped with a few inches to spare. Three kids' heads popped up in the back of that van turned around looking at me wide eyed. If those kids could have read lips they may have learned several words they shouldn't have. Went on grumbling about the person but when I got home, in the door, I broke down crying. It's amazing how we can hold it together in such situations, but the stress will come out eventually.

A few years ago I did that to a service truck. This moron in a 1 ton Ford gets behind me, while the passing lane is open, hits the high beams and starts honking his horn about 2 feet from my bumper. I checked my brakes (they were working perfectly). The guy lost control and sprayed tools all over the highway before he got buried in the median. Cheered me up immensely. I pulled over and offered to punch him in the face but he seemed reluctant to engage once we weren't in our vehicles anymore. I may have spat on him, we're not sure.

As you already know, in bear culture, kung fu & its variants are merely sport.

When bears attack for real, they use the more effective martial art called "bear attack".
