Yes. LSD is lysergic acid diethylamine, I think.

Funnily enough, my mother owns a health food store and she sells lysergic acid. Anyone who knows what they are doing can probably make LSD from that. I wonder if she realizes :S

Well whether you can or cannot (I think it can be accomplished via a substitution reaction?), is it really her business what they do with it? I mean, I can easily manufacture a dirty bomb using household chemicals. I can make a pipe bomb using CO2 cartridges.

Should businesses refuse to sell me these products in the chance that I may manufacture a bomb? On what grounds can they even do that?

Or should she stop carrying it? Well then the argument has to apply to virtually anything that can be used to make something dangerous.

My dad had a gun store and my mom was always worried that he'd get in trouble if someone bought a gun from him and then shot someone with it. I really don't think you should be responsible for what other people do with stuff you sell them though. I mean, I could go to walmart and buy a rope and then strangle someone with it. It's not walmart's fault.

I was saying you should look into it so maybe you could make some LSD if you wanted...

I've never done LSD. The way a guy described it at school made me want to do it though. I thought it was a little ironic. He was supposed to be telling us why we shouldn't do drugs, but then he said people who take LSD sometimes say they can see a sound, and I thought that sounded pretty cool. I guess it makes sense sort of, to see a sound. It's hard to explain. I think my brain is messed up though.
