Wowza. Here, you just don't wear the hijab if you want to wear miniskirts and tanktops. Plenty of Muslim women don't wear the hijab. If you're going to wear the hijab, then you must, at the very least, have sleeves to your wrists and your ankles covered. Of course, plenty get heaps of make-up, wear high-heels, and basically everything else they can get away with. :p

Yeah, well when you have a mixture of moderate to secular Muslims on one hand (which is growing, it seems), and then Canadian Muslims who grew up in quite strong, fundamentalist homes and were practically made to wear hijab even in elementary school, they just become accustomed to it.

I still assert that hijab is more cultural than Qur'anic, but I'm just plain biased, especially when it *can* be soo fashionable sometimes! :p I've seen really pretty ones on the bus with Spring patterns and the like on the bus and Skytrain.

PICKLES THE KID
Still coughing, tomorrow is the last day of school before Spring Break and it's also the 80s dance ;) hahahaha that should be fun. The only bad thing about this week is the drama between me and my should be bestie, Anabelle. She knows I like this boy, Aaron Robertson and you know what? She starts liking him! And THEN, she asked him out!! What kinda friend does that? I liked Aaron wayyy longer than she has and she stole him from me.

YouTube - 2011 NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER PROMO VIDEO

Ah, thunderstorms and God, like peas in a pod. Hey, that actually rhymes.

I love thunderstorms! ^___^;

Although I have ot say, those Americans need more variety... it would be as equally nice to see Muslims holding a Qur'an with the Day of Reckoning verses and doing salat, and then Jews doing davvening, the Buddhists on their malas, Hare Krishnas singing kirtan, Baha'is in meditative prayer, Wiccans casting a circle, etc. etc...

I think you get my drift. ;)

My next door neighbor, who has a one room efficiency apartment, has brought home a woman. I give it a week or so until their first argument, followed by, "To which room of my one room apartment do I stalk off to in order to cool down?"

Oooh, that's not cool.

I had friends who loved to flirt with my dates. My guess is it was a competitive thing. That and a serious lack of maturity. *shrug* Those friendships didn't last.

You should totally put that in the comments of the video.

In other news: I am off to play Perfect World, where the world is actually perfect.

I had two hours of sleep last night and have been up since 4 am. I am exhausted but not exhausted enough to sleep.

And now I look at my family, all snug in their beds, and think, "Shame on you for abandoning in favor of sleep." I am so selfish.

Sleep why do you evade me so?
