British crossword puzzles are pretty hard when you're not British. I don't know any Scottish TV detectives, hills north of Brighton, or Welsh dishes. I just want to finish one crossword puzzle on my own without looking at the answers. Just one. ._.

There's my "dour Scottish TV detective" with seven letters! And that country's Ghana, not Benin... which totally changes that next word... graar!

And help from friends doesn't count. :D I'm trying to stay away from Wikipedia/Google and the answers at the back, though.

Oh goodee, I like a puzzle , what are the other clues? Not sure I will be able to help but I will certainly try :D

It's a puzzle book nearly 100 pages long. XD Although you might know what a landed proprietor in Scotland is. (5 letters)

You might prefer the cryptic clue for that particular puzzle: "I must interrupt fat Scottish landowner." :D

First thing that springs to mind is owner, but not sure how I can fit that one with the cryptic clue lol actually..... as I type, I remember land owners used to be called Lairds which would fit with the cryptic one :D

It just hit me today. It's almost Christmas and I'm 500 miles away from my kids. This is the first time I won't be with them for Christmas. I don't think it's possible to be any more depressed. :(

Smelling cigarette smoke just kills my brain cells (or at least makes my head hurt). And when it's coming into your own room, it's not exactly easy to get away from it.... Blah. -buries beak in fabric-
