Why does every single watch I buy freak out? They either stop working or (if I have an analogue watch), the ticker will occasionally go backwards, and I'll end up with my watch an hour behind every day.

Why?! :D

I do that to watches, too. And when I am really upset, or hormonal -- to computers. I'm serious.

My mother has a scanner printer, and when I need to use it, it always starts having problems, like freezing up mid print, or refusing to turn of when I tell it to, but she says it never gives her any kind of problem.

My son ran around his room, not watching where he was going, did this trip, stumble, bounce off a toy bin, and fall thing where he banged his knee and all I could do was laugh as it looked so comical. When I pointed out how ridiculous it all looked he started laughing too. Then he started to try to show what doing something stupid and getting hurt looked like by running crazily into his door, despite me telling him don't, and acting like he knocked himself in the head and then falling to the floor. At that point he really did smack his face against the floor for real and hurt himself again. Bad mommy me, I couldn't help but break up laughing again. And again, I explained how that was even funnier than before because he was intentionally trying to show something dumb to do and he really did hurt himself, and he started laughing again. Oh, the joys of motherhood.

This is for Badran -- just don't know where else to post it.

Regarding our race: I'm just covering my bases (that means I am protecting my interests from possible negative exposure.) :D

I just noticed a bunch of responses to new Member Introductions. When I first saw it, I thought "I've struck gold! I will win for sure. Right now."

But, it was fools gold, because they were not really brand new Intro's. They were some rather old ones that someone was saying "Hi" to.

Now, I was tempted to go ahead and post "Hello and welcome" and say that technically 10 of them would qualify as a Win according to the (non-existent) additional rules established for our competition.

But, I know that I would never be satisfied with an ill-gotten win. So, I am not going to do that. Deep down, I know that my intention in extending the challenge to you was that the competition includes responding to new posts -- initial posts of new members first posted AFTER we were both in agreement of our established competition.

I am going to amaze you with the swiftness and skill of my own posting feat of winningness and I want to be able to enjoy that win. I also want to make it clear, just in case the obvious scenario for a technically ease win also occurs for you. We are responding with the duly established greeting to NEW New Member Intro's.

edit: Additionally, in the spirit of keeping greetings genuine and personal, additional expressions of friendliness, comments and questions are permissible -- and completely optional. However, for the posting to qualify, it must contain "Hello and welcome" as a phrase -- although we may both feel free to express our creativity with capitalization, or lack thereof.

Agreed?

edit #2: I see that the mulitple posts I mentioned are no longer there. It really baffled me when I woke up this morning. But, after thinking about it -- I think I can guess what happened. (I recall there were links added to that user's new Intro post. I didn't look at them, but I bet they were something they shouldn't have been.) Good thing I didn't think I had a win there.

I agree with the terms and conditions you have put forth.

I can't say in a good heart though, or with a straight face, that any of this is going to help you. None of it will impede the inevitable outcome. I've told you before that you have made a terrible mistake with thinking of this challenge. There is a disaster coming your way, and there is nothing you can do stop it.

You'll be scared, and you'll be powerless, in the face of my overwhelming, uncompromising, and awe inspiring power. I wish i could convince you to rethink your position; i don't wish to see you suffer, but i don't think you have the wisdom to know when its time to run.

In addition, to keep in line with the spirit of ... "competition", i demand that there be a reward for the winner. If i win, you are then forced to add me to your friend list, with a bonus of a visitor message begging me to accept your friendship. If you win, then i'll be the one to beg your generosity to accept my friendship.

Are you still in, putting in mind these added conditions, or have you finally acquired the wisdom to realize how much suffering you're getting yourself into?

Ah, My Good soon-to-be (either way it goes) Friend,

Apparently, you do not know who you are dealing with. Or, perhaps you do. Either way, I am right on at least one of the aforementioned points.

I have, in fact, been told that I was so hard-headed that I was like one of those people in a movie (in a fight scene) that you want to screem, "Just stay down!" but does not have the sense to do so. I bear that flaw proudly. I shall prevail!

While you strike a hard bargain (on the off chance that I am not the victor) -- I do accept the additional conditions put forth by you. However, I must point out that it is not that much of a win for me to have you begging for my friendship -- as I consider that inevitable away. Although I do look forward to your Friend Request, along with the accompanying plea.

Fear not, for I am a gracious winner and will not rub my victory in your face any more than I can come up with witty retorts to fling at you.

My sister and I are having a conversation about deodorant and how extra strength anti-perspirant doesn't always mask odors as it should as the perfumes make you stink worse.

The Spring Festival was today. It was sad but happy.:) I saw 2 friends I haven't seen in awhile; My friend, Dessie, and my friend, Charles.
I am truly going to miss all the people I was blessed to meet this year. I'm glad I didn't cry, but I think I should've. I'm just so happy.♥

I just love starting my day by waking up at 6am with a whopper of a migraine. It's now a little after 3pm, I've taken a gauntlet of medications since I woke up, and I'm just now experiencing some relief.

I would like to encourage all new members that have not yet introduced themselves to just go ahead -- start a thread in the Introductions section -- to say "Hello" and tell us about yourself .

We'd love to hear about you and have a chance to say "Hi." :D

I'm sorry. I know how you feel; most migraines I have don't seem to fade away quickly in the slightest. The last one I recall having lasted for more than 7 hours strong before I started experiencing gradual relief.

Do you have any idea of what could possibly be the cause of your migraine?

Not positive, but my doctor and I think my allergies could be a trigger. My neurologist wants me on a preventative med but the side effects make leary and I haven't decided which yet.

One hell of a storm moved through here this afternoon and I just recently got power back a couple hours ago. A lot of the county is still without power. 60mph winds took down trees everywhere, including onto some campers in our campgrounds area. The large statue of Chief Wapello, which use to grace the top of our county courthouse, is now sitting on the ground. Saved from plummeting by only some columns around below it, it was blown off its mount completely and had to be taken down. The city's been pretty quick with getting all the debris cleared up. When we went out this evening there were piles of branches neatly pulled along curbsides everywhere. Of course, with all that blowing around there were many cars that got damage from being hit by flying tree branches and more. My mother had said that she could see what appeared to be parts of buildings flying down the street in the wind and rain. Whereas me...yep, you guessed it, I was outside watching most of it. I stood on my front porch step, under my awning, and braced myself and watched the storm's majesty. I was lucky that the brunt force of the wind came from behind my house, so while I did get splattered with rain it wasn't directly. :p Despite all the damage, I still just love the raw power of storms.
