The Real Reason Trump Won

The US became the world leader in producing oil in 2018.

Is there where I am supposed to say Biden is just riding on what Trump started?
Show us that Trump had anything to do with it.

Oil companies control their drilling and their porduction. The global oil markets dictate their volume of production. All a president can do is release oil from the strategic reserves.

Ah so this link from post #220 is just clickbait right?

Right wing media dominance.

https://newrepublic.com/maz/post/188197/trump-media-information-landscape-fox

"Today, the right-wing media—Fox News (and the entire News Corp.), Newsmax, One America News Network, the Sinclair network of radio and TV stations and newspapers, iHeart Media (formerly Clear Channel), the Bott Radio Network (Christian radio), Elon Musk’s X, the huge podcasts like Joe Rogan’s, and much more—sets the news agenda in this country. And they fed their audiences a diet of slanted and distorted information that made it possible for Trump to win."

What do you think? Legitimate analysis? Or liberal hogwash?
The analysis in the article has some truth to it. But the point is that Trump did not win. That illusion will be corrected soon.

Say whatever you want, doesn't matter to me.

You know what, all sorts of rights are not conveyed to not only the unborn but to infants and children. Rights such as the right to live I guess.
Do you think the unborn should have more rights than those who are already born?

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
You argue that fetuses should have rights far beyond the rights of an actual person. Apparently, you don't consider fetuses to be people either... or at least you act as if they aren't.
No I argue that fetuses are people and should be protected by the law, not legally killed.

I, a 47-year-old man, am clearly a person and can clearly express my will to live.

Despite this, I'm not entitled to so much as a drop of my mother's blood or even a hair off her head, regardless of the consequences for me if I don't get these things.

If she doesn't consent to provide whatever blood or tissue I need to stay alive, then I don't get it, period. Even if I'll surely die without it and even if she gives no reason at all for her refusal, she has the absolute right to her own body.

If you thought that fetuses were human beings, this is the standard you'd apply for them, too.

... but you don't. You argue that fetuses should have different rights than people, which is how I know you consider a fetus to be something different from a person.

No, i f you needed your mother's care, I would fight for it too, but I don't think you do need it.

Yeah, oil production UNDER Biden. It doesn't say presidents cause the production levels. As I said, the only thing a president can do is release oil from the reserves, which will only have a small impact on the cost of gas. There can be gas taxes adjusted to lower the consumer price, but production is largely on oil companies, demand, and global stability.

Hell, my husband had a degree in oil exploration and worked in the oil and gas industry for years and he never really could explain oil companies, demand, and global stability to me or anyone else.

See what I mean? We will not ever reach an agreement.
We see anti-choice folks unable to present a sound argument, so they try to redefine words to make it seem like a fetus is on par legally and factually to a born person with constitutional rights. They don't. Rights begin at birth, that's it. This is why abortion is legal in states that value the rights of female citizens.

I do see some validity in assigning some rights to a fetus after viability, that being 22-24 months. This is why the Roe v Wade decision was so good.
